Gurpreet Pia Fleming embarked on her career in fashion after graduating from NIFT Delhi in 1987. She later studied fashion at FIT and eventually settled in the US. In 2002 she launched her line of accessories under the label BIAN (mysterious in Vietnamese). FGI nominated her as a rising star in the field of accessories for 2004. BIAN was introduced in India in 2006 at the opening of her flagship store in Delhi, which has been rated as one of the most beautiful stores in Delhi.
Rajvi Mohan launched her own label in India in 2005. Rajvi graduated from The London College of Fashion, London, England (Menswear specialty) and Parsons School of Design, New York and worked for design houses like Armani Exchange, the ITC Lifestyle Retail Business Division, Ghost Menswear Pink Hill and Vivienne Westwood. Rajvi's designs is of sophisticated, fun and quirky designs for the discerning male client who lives and works in a global space.
The statement was straight designs rule and not the celebs. Manish Malhotra's show started off with the theme of the Kolkata Knight Riders. The men and ladies' outfits were in black and gold, with a dash of cricketing style. For women, the shapes started with sleek to flairs in both sheer and clinging fabric. The appearance of Murli Karthik and Aakash Chopra from the Knight Riders team was a good surprise.
